About our Programs
Pray and Paddle events include two programatic options:
1) Paddling with Lectio Divina. On the water we share in Lectio Divina, an ancient practice of listening to a piece of sacred
wisdom, three times. Each reading includes a question followed by and extended time of paddling in silence. In this way our
paddle is accompanied and shaped by the sacred wisdom, our thoughts and the experience of being on the water. Each paddle will draw from a particular source of wisdom i.e. Judeo-Christian, poetry, indigenous wisdom, interfaith, environmental.

2) Customized Group Paddle (church and non-profit small groups). Depending on schedule availability, contact our Pray and Paddle coordinator, Kent Harrop. We can tailor a contemplative paddle experience built around a theme of your choosing.

All paddle events are primarily in silence. We believe that silence can lead to a place of deeper understanding, connection with nature and with that great mystery that goes by many names: God/ Spirit/Creator. 3000 years ago, the prophet, Isaiah said: ‘Listen and your soul will live.’ ~ Isaiah 55: 3.

Pray and Paddle is a wonderful event for both novice and experienced paddlers. A paddling and safety orientation begins each session. Rentals available or bring own boat. Reservations required. Each event is approximately 2-3 hours and take place from 9 a.m. - Noon from Rolling Ridge (unless otherwise noted). In the case of inclement weather making paddling unsafe, notice will be sent by 5 p.m. the evening prior with option to reschedule or receive a refund. Canceling by a participant requires 72 hour notice to receive a refund.
